Today is the last day you can grab a Pre-Education membership at Clubs Days. We are at the Nest until 3pm.

If you can’t make it and would still like to join, please send us a quick message through Facebook or email. An exec member will reach out ASAP to help.

Get to know our returning VP Public Relations, Xenia, who might be the one replying to your messages! (And check out our other exec profiles from earlier this week.)

Xenia Sammi
—Faculty: Arts
—Major: History and Human Geography
—Year: 5th year
—What is one thing you want to try doing within the next decade?
Learn a new language from scratch. Travel somewhere alone.

I have to wear a ring on the middle finger of my right hand, or I’ll feel like something’s missing
—If you were given one thousand acres of land that you had to keep and couldn’t sell, what would you do with it?
Loophole: rent it? What normal person could use that much land without trading it away for something?
—What is one thing you are most passionate about?
Discovery— whether it’s myself or in others, I think learning, realizing, and finding new things is important for positive growth and progress.
—A goal I want to make this year for the UBC Pre-Education Club is…
Connect with members who are also passionate about learning and education so that we can plan more events that cater to people’s needs. (Having said that, please don’t hesitate to reach out during open meetings, events, and over social media/email… we’d love to answer questions and hear any feedback you have!) http://ow.ly/i/12026389-E0FNSYhy

It’s almost here! UBC Pre-Education wil

It’s almost here! UBC Pre-Education will be holding our first event on September 29th, so make sure to grab your membership at our Clubs Day booth next week at the Nest. Stay tuned for more details!

I would like to learn the violin.
—What weird food combination(s) do you enjoy eating?
A bowl of spinach with black pepper… does that count?
—What is one thing you do every day that you cannot let go of?
I think about one thing I could improve upon in my life and try to move towards improving that one thing throughout the day – even if it’s a small step in the right direction.
—If you were given one thousand acres of land that you had to keep and couldn’t sell, what would you do with it?
I would probably set up a volunteer facility that allowed different organizations in the community to rent the space for their own use.
—What is one thing you are most passionate about?
Apart from teaching in a classroom or tutoring, I also really love teaching Indian dance in my hometown. Not only am I able to teach children how to do something that doubles as exercise and fun, but I also get to share my culture with them. It allows me to inspire others and the students inspire me with their creativity as well.
—A goal I want to make this year for the UBC Pre-Education Club is…
to get to know other people who are as enthusiastic about teaching as I am and to help the club create chances for aspiring teachers to learn more about the teaching opportunities that are out there. http://ow.ly/i/12026389-lXIDtySx
