If I could be any (real or not!) creature, I would be a…

…phoenix, more specifically like Fawkes from Harry Potter. Phoenixes are such an amazing creatures- they’re able to regenerate themselves, heal others, and are extremely loyal.

The person who inspires/taught me the most is…

…my grandma 🙂

If money wasn’t a concern, I would pack my bags ASAP and vacation away to…

…South Korea- Jeju Island or the Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Denmark)

The most valuable lesson/advice I’ve learned …

…there’s a few actually, but here’s two.

“Just because you fail once doesn’t mean you’re going to fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always trust yourself, because if you don’t who will?” I’ve always feared failure and when I did fail to achieve something, I beat myself over it so much that I let it rule my mind and I lost so much confidence and faith in myself, two things I was already lacking. But, I’ve learned that it’s almost impossible to live without failing at something, so instead of dwelling over it, use it as a motivation and keep trying.

“Happiness is doubled when you share it together, and sadness is halved when you share it together.” I tend to bottle up my feelings, especially negative ones. But over time I’ve learned that even though it might be embarrassing to share my sadness with others, especially my family, it’s okay because in turn, I receive a lot of support and reassurance, and it feels like a ton of weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.

I joined the UBC Pre-Education Club because…

…I’d like to be a teacher in the future and thought that it would be a great way to learn more about my goal.

Tune in next week to meet our Treasurer!
